Have you ever been in a situation where you were in over your head, out of your depth and under a lot of stress?
Perhaps you feel like that a lot.
You agonise over the smallest mistake or flaw in your work, find receiving feedback really difficult and often downplay your expertise – even in areas where you are genuinely more skilled and knowledgeable than others.
Often riddled with self doubt, being asked a question you’re not sure how to answer, speaking up in meetings and talking to seniors/other teams – are all areas where you would like to increase your confidence and competence.
If any of the above resonate, then you’re in the right place.
Working with the imposter phenomenon
Firstly, please note that you’re not alone.
This is an extremely common experience – especially in high achievers.
Secondly, you can find a free 4 part very popular series of sessions I ran entitled: How to Succeed without Feeling like an Imposter. This was for the Insurance Institute of Southampton.
Thirdly, if you’d like to work with me – we can discuss sessions tailored to you or your workplace.
Typically we’d cover:
- Recognise what imposter syndrome is
- Increase your awareness as to when and where it shows up
- Develop strategies and skills to effectively relate to feelings of inadequacy
- Apply strategies and skills to manage unhelpful thoughts so that you don’t get so consumed by them
You can contact me and we can discuss in more detail.
Develop your self confidence
You can also join a series of self-confidence sessions that I shall be running in September. These will be held at lunchtime – virtually. To register your interest – please contact me: melissa@motem.co.uk
